My most recent work relates to sculptural forms and the erosion of their surface by the elements to reveal their history.

The subject is often buried or submerged, then excavated and exposed by layers being peeled away.

Although there is an unconscious editing process the paint and surface dictates what appears. Chance marks and fractures, changes in colour, cracks and eroded layers all alter identity and significance.

I make abstract  as well as figurative paintings and work in  extremes of scale at the same time, retaining an interest in exploring materials and their properties using different means of mark making, while developing new ideas on a variety of grounds.

My work is always changing as ideas evolve.
